Our Heritage

The Pamir Mountains, often referred to as the “Roof of the World,” are among the highest mountain ranges in Asia. This remarkable region is also the source of some of the world's finest pink and red spinels.

For centuries, spinels from the historic Kuh-i-Lal mine in Badakhshan, Tajikistan, have been admired for their exceptional color and beauty. These gemstones have found their way into the royal treasures of the Timurids, Mughals, Persian Shahs, and European royal families.

The founders of Pamir Gems come from this very region, where gemstones have been part of the local heritage for generations. It is this connection to their homeland and its rich history that inspired the name Pamir Gems.

Our Story

Pamir Gems was established in the late 1990s in Tajikistan, beginning as a small mining company working at the historic Kuh-i-Lal spinel mine, whose origins date back more than a thousand years.

Today, Pamir Gems is based in Bangkok, Thailand, and specializes in sourcing, cutting, polishing, and supplying fine natural colored gemstones to the international market.

Our particular expertise lies in the rare pink and red spinels of Kuh-i-Lal, alongside a carefully selected collection of exceptional gemstones from around the world.

With more than two decades of experience, we have developed a deep understanding of gemstones, from their origins in the earth to their final presentation as beautifully cut and polished stones.
